Release Day Launch - Searching For Perfect by Jennifer Probst

The up-and-coming matchmaking agency Kinnections is the hottest thing to hit Verily, New York—just like Kennedy Ashe, social director for the service she owns with her two best girlfriends. A coach, consultant, and cheerleader rolled into one super-sizzling package, Kennedy creates dream dates, encourages singles to shine, and never refuses a challenge—not even Nate Ellison Raymond Dunkle, rocket scientist, nerd extraordinaire, and Kennedy’s newest client.

Kennedy vows to work her magic and transform this hot mess in a lab coat with a disastrous relationship track record into the most wanted man on the Verily dating scene. If only she could turn the wand on herself . . .

Though she radiates confidence and sex appeal, Kennedy harbors deep-seated insecurities from a tormented past and lifelong struggle with weight issues. When she realizes she and Nate are cut from the same cloth and might be perfect together, can Kennedy learn to let her heart lead the way? Or will her fears sentence her to the sidelines as Nate finds love—with someone else?

In charming Verily, New York, Kate Seymour has a smashing success with Kinnections, the matchmaking service she owns with her two best girlfriends. But Kate’s more than a savvy businesswoman: She’s gifted with a secret power, a jolting touch that signals when love’s magic is at work. It rocked her when she picked up a strange volume of love spells in the town’s used bookstore . . . and it zapped her again when she encountered Slade Montgomery, the hot-tempered— and hot-bodied—divorce lawyer who storms into Kinnections demanding proof that playing Cupid won’t destroy his vulnerable sister, Kate’s newest client. The only way to convince this cynic that she’s no fraud, and that love is no mirage, is for Kate to meet his audacious challenge: find him his dream woman. Can Kate keep their relationship strictly business when her electrifying attraction nearly knocked her off her feet? Or has the matchmaker finally met her match?

"Debut authors Downey Greene deliver heart-stopping and edgy romantic suspense. Raw, gripping, and fiercely sexy, you won't be able to put PARTNERS IN CRIME down."~Laura Moore, author of Once Tempted.

Faye sagged, dropping her ass back on her heels. Her head fell forward as he loosened his grip on her hair only slightly. Errant strands hung askew, obscuring her view. She could still taste him on her tongue and was trying to steady her breathing when he yanked her to her feet. He pushed her up against the wall again, his body flush against hers. Brushing her blonde locks from her face, he leaned in to whisper in her ear. “Damn Sugar, I like the way you apologize.” He chuckled. “You have no idea what you do to me.”

WE…yes you read right. We are two separate individuals who met in a writing group on FB. In this group we dabbled in writing and hit it off, each liking the other’s strengths and complimenting the other’s weaknesses. When the opportunity presented to Downey to submit to a publisher she approached Greene to join her in the journey. Both with hectic lives they took turns writing, swapping ideas and chapters, thus creating their first book, Partners in Crime. Here is a little something about the Dynamic Duo.

Downey: Otherwise known as Maureen lives in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. She is your typical suburban soccer mom; well ok there is nothing typical about her AND her kids play EVERYTHING but soccer. Downey as she is known in this duo has 5 kids ranging from 12 ½ to 19. And to answer the question swirling in your minds…YES, she is crazy. She has been married for over 21 years to her best friend and love of her life. She LOVES to read, her appetite is voracious for all things books. Her job at a local bookstore was by far one of the best experiences and fed her addiction to the written word. Going to book signings and having them at the store were her rock star moments; she is a total fan girl for authors. When that job disappeared she felt bereft, with much floundering she stumbled upon the underbelly of FB and fell in love with writing. Creating stories and weaving tall tales helped ease the indecision that plagued her. The feedback and support for her writing blew her away and prompted her to open Word and create. Loving how Greene weaved a story Downey decided they should become the Dynamic Duo. With the support of her family she has embarked on a totally unexpected new path. When she is not carting kids all over she is managing her kingdom…..in between all that she reads, blogs(BCWAB) and submerges herself in her make believe world and writes. Some days she feels invincible, other days…well they should hide. Never in a million years did she ever think THIS was a possibility, as they say when one door closes another opens. In her case, truer words were never spoken.

Greene: Otherwise known as Alison to family and friends, Honey Bunny to her husband since the dawn of time – or so it seems, mom to her 2 children, and momma to her one and only grandson, lives in a small area of Western New York known primarily as the birthplace of Gabby Hayes. Alison has always loved reading and writing was always a hobby while she harbored a secret dream to one day be published. How to do that when she’s as twitchy as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs? Find herself a writing partner. Enter Maureen Downey.

“Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12

I’m a middle child, and no, I don’t suffer from the middle child syndrome. According to my parents, I’m the craziest, and I think, my husband and children agree with them.

Besides the births of my two children, my husband’s successful transplant is one of the most memorable moments of my crazy life! After dealing with two bouts of cancer, my husband served as an inspiration to me and my children. I’m privileged to be married and go on this crazy ride, we call life, with a man who doesn’t know the meaning of giving up.

I’m known as The Crazy Cat Lady, in the Wanted World. Am I crazy? Well, the jury is still out on that one, but I’d like to think I can make one person smile with my craziness.

Cover Reveal & Giveaway - Beloved by Corinne Michaels

I'm very excited to be a part of the cover reveal for Corinne. I can't wait to read Beloved!

Not enough.

Catherine Pope has never been enough. Every man she has ever loved abandoned her—from her father to her fiancé. She finally accepted the fact she would never be enough to hold any man’s heart and soul.

Then Catherine met Jackson Cole.

When her world literally collided with the sexy former Navy SEAL, everything she always believed is turned upside down and left scattered. He made her feel alive and desirable, consumed her with fierceness and loyalty—which completely unnerved her. Jackson got her in a way no one ever had, giving him the power to destroy her.

If she breaks down and gives him what’s left of her battered heart—will he protect it? Or will Catherine become an irrelevant part of yet another man’s life?

Will she get the one thing that has always evaded her – to finally be someone’s beloved?

Corinne is an emotional, witty, sarcastic, and fun loving mom of two beautiful children. She’s happily married to the man of her dreams and is a former Navy wife. After spending months away from her husband while he was deployed, reading and writing was her escape from the loneliness. Beloved is her first novel due in June of 2014.

Book News - Inking Him, a Garrick & Bliss short story by Cora Carmack

Cora Carmack has released a special short story featuring Garrick and Bliss from her popular novel, Losing It, for a very special lady. Read on and find out this amazing things he is doing and find out how you can help brighten someone's day.

The post below is from Cora and has been reposted with her permission. You can see the original post by going here:

Last May I met an incredible group of women.

Molly McAdams and I were doing a signing at a University bookstore in the Dallas area right after the semester had ended. So, of course, all those college students we'd been hoping to find were long gone.

But luckily, we didn't have to sit alone in that Barnes and Noble because a few awesome fans came out to see us, including a group of women that had made a long drive from Oklahoma. I've since seen these awesome ladies at several signings (all of which were outside Oklahoma, but they made the trip anyway). You'll even find them mentioned in the acknowledgments of SEEKING HER because they will forever and always hold a place in my heart and my memory.

Why?

Well, after that Dallas signing (which was only my 2nd or 3rd signing EVER if I remember correctly), we got to talking. They'd come so far, and the signing lasted less than an hour, and we wanted to hang out a little longer to make the trip worthwhile for them. Someone (it might have even been me) jokingly said we should go get tattoos. We looked around the circle, Molly and I shrugged because we both have and love tattoos. And we said, "Sure!"

So, we took to Yelp and found a nearby tattoo parlor that had good ratings, and we set off. And as we all sat in the tattoo parlor talking about tattoo ideas and looking at pictures and portfolios, one member of our group was the first to step up and into the tattoo chair.

Her name was Kerry (bottom left on the picture above), and she got this gorgeous tattoo of a four leaf clover that said "Luck of the Irish."

I will always remember that day. Hell, I have ink on my skin that means I'll absolutely never forget it. But today I'm writing because our friend Kerry has not been so lucky. A few months back, one of the other awesome tattoo ladies, Angela, reached out to me on Facebook with bad news. Kerry had had a seizure at work, and after a few terrible days and lots of tests, they found out she had stage four lung cancer that had spread to her brain. The tumors there were too risky to chance an operation, and a few days later, more tests revealed that the cancer had spread into even more parts of her body, including her lymph nodes, adrenal glands, and pancreas. Since then, despite chemo and other treatments, Kerry's prognosis has continued to decline.

When Angela contacted me, I was so devastated for her and Kerry and their families. These women never fail to put a smile on my face when they show up at signings full of enthusiasm and love and unwavering support for the NA and Indie communities. I wanted to be able to do something special for Kerry, and I know LOSING IT was her favorite book of mine (Hamlet is her favorite character, in fact). So, between deadlines for books I wrote a Garrick and Bliss (and Hamlet) short story inspired by our first meeting. It's called INKING HIM. And yep, you guessed it... Garrick gets a tattoo.

I wrote this story for Kerry, but I'm sharing it all with you in the hopes that you'll help me give a little something back to her. The days ahead aren't going to get any easier for Kerry and her family and friends. She's exhausted, and they're all in pain, and they could all use a little hope and love. And if you're reading this, you most likely know the way that books (and book people) can touch and change your life. So, here's what I would ask of you.

Using the hashtag #WordsforKerry on Twitter or Facebook or Instagram or wherever, post something for Kerry to see to help brighten up her day. It can be a cute guy with a cat, an inspiring or funny quote from a book you love, or just your well wishes, thoughts, and prayers for her and her family. As a community of book lovers, we might sit alone in our homes, reading our books alone, but I hope you'll help me show this book lover that she's not alone. It's such a small thing, and I hope you'll take the time to do that and show your support.

There are more ways you can help, too. You can email Kerry at dgroover4jb@gmail.com (or perhaps send your love by gifting an e-book that you love because those are better than cards anyway, am I right?). If you're an author, blogger, or a reader who wants to send Kerry books or swag or anything else to brighten up her day, you can do so here:

Kerry Brown
C/O Kim Koumbis
1532 West Onyx Way

Mustang, OK 73064

Or if you'd care to donate to Kerry and her family, they've set up a paypal account where you can easily contribute to the following email: dgroover4jb@gmail.com. If you don't know how to send money via paypal, you can read instructions here. Even if it's just $.99, the amount you would pay had I published this short story instead of posting it here, that can add up if enough people read and contribute.

Please know that this is me asking these things of you, not Kerry, or her family. I planned this with her friend without Kerry's input in the hopes that the book community would reach out and give this wonderful woman back some of the love that she's poured out over the years. And whether you're donating to her family or just tweeting her a message, I'm thankful for whatever you're willing to do.

Here's the tattoo I got that day in Dallas:

It was inspired by one of my favorite books, Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly. Specifically to remind me of this quote from the book:

“Life’s all about the revolution, isn’t it?
The one inside, I mean. You can’t change history.
You can’t change the world.
All you can ever change is yourself.”

I wish I could do more for Kerry. I wish I could take away the pain and the stress and the fear. I wish I had more than words and prayers to offer her, but I'll give her what I can. And I hope you'll join me. And Kerry, I love you girl. Thanks for touching my life and loving my books and being such a beautiful person. I'm praying for luck and a revolution for you.

So without further ado, here's Kerry's story... INKING HIM:

I hope you enjoyed this little peek back into the world of Garrick and Bliss. And please don't forget to spread the support using #WordsforKerry. And if you don't mind sharing this blog post so more people can read and support, I would be so very grateful. Just so you know... this is not the same Garrick and Bliss short story that you'll receive if you pre-order All Lined Up. That's a separate campaign through my publisher that you can find out more about here.

Thanks again for stopping by and spreading the word! I appreciate it so much, and I know Kerry and her people do, too!

Review - Tears of Tess, Quintessentially Q and Destroyed by Pepper Winters

My lovely guest reviewer, Mandi, has reviewed three of Pepper Winter's books for us in anticipation of the upcoming release of Twisted Together.

As Mandi likes to describe, Pepper writes dark & twisty deliciousness. Enjoy her take on Tears of Tess, Quintessentially Q and Destroyed!

"My life was complete. Happy, content, everything neat and perfect. Then it all changed.I was sold."

Tess Snow has everything she ever wanted: one more semester before a career in property development, a loving boyfriend, and a future dazzling bright with possibility.

For their two year anniversary, Brax surprises Tess with a romantic trip to Mexico. Sandy beaches, delicious cocktails, and soul-connecting sex set the mood for a wonderful holiday. With a full heart, and looking forward to a passion filled week, Tess is on top of the world.

But lusty paradise is shattered.

Kidnapped. Drugged. Stolen. Tess is forced into a world full of darkness and terror.

Captive and alone with no savior, no lover, no faith, no future, Tess evolves from terrified girl to fierce fighter. But no matter her strength, it can't save her from the horror of being sold.

Can Brax find Tess before she's broken and ruined, or will Tess's new owner change her life forever?

This is one of those books that people absolutely love or hate because it takes them completely out of their comfort zone. Me, I absolutely loved every single dark and twisted moment of this sensual and smoking hot story. I’m not sure what that says about me but there it is, I am not ashamed. Pepper has a way of taking you to the very edge of darkness and then slowly pulling you back so as not to completely submerse you. You are left reeling throughout the book wondering how much more can one person take and how long can she possibly fight off her sexy as sin FRENCH, yes I said French speaking Master who just may not be the Monster that she believes him to be…or maybe he is.  TOT, as many of us have lovingly dubbed it, is not for the faint of heart as it does touch on some delicate subjects like human trafficking and rape but if you can handle some dark with your dirty then Pepper is your girl and you need to dive into TOT sooner rather than later because once you finish it NOTHING will keep you from reading book two in the Monsters in the Dark series.

The highly anticipated sequel to the Monsters in the Dark series.
“All my life, I battled with the knowledge I was twisted… screwed up to want something so deliciously dark—wrong on so many levels. But then slave fifty-eight entered my world. Hissing, fighting, with a core of iron, she showed me an existence where two wrongs do make a right."
Tess is Q’s completely.
Q is Tess’s irrevocably.
But now, they must learn the boundaries of their unconventional relationship, while Tess seeks vengeance on the men who sold her. Q made a blood-oath to deliver their corpses at Tess’s feet, and that’s just what he’ll do.

He may be a monster, but he’s Tess’s monster.

Let’s start with me telling you that I cannot torture myself for another minute trying to spell this one and that from here on out I will refer to this little masterpiece as QQ! Now that I have that out of the way I need for you to get ready to question everything you think you know about yourself and the kind of men you usually  go for because Pepper is about to blow that straight to hell! This book is probably darker and a whole lot grittier than TOT but in a totally different way. Nothing can prepare you for the absolute f*ckery that is going to go down in this book, NOTHING! Peppers’ writing is brilliant and her characters come through so clearly there is no way that you can NOT get wrapped up in them. I can’t go into too much detail because it’s one of those stories that you have to become acquainted with on your own and any little slip from me will ruin what Pepper has so masterfully laid out for you. I will tell you that if you think you loved Q in TOT, which I know you did if you’re smart and getting ready to read QQ, and then get ready to fall even harder for him in this book! I read it weeks ago and I still find myself thinking about a sexy French man with tattoos that have me donning my swoony pants and an accent that makes me want to drop said swoony pants. What? It’s a word. Well, it is now anyway! I will never look at a sparrow again without thinking of Q and his Esclave. And I will never stop trying to convince my husband that he should learn French and call me his Esclave and to whisper “Je suis a toi,’’ to me, especially if he wants to get lucky. Now do you believe me when I tell you swoony is a word?

She has a secret.
I'm complicated. Not broken or ruined or running from a past I can't face. Just complicated.

I thought my life couldn't get any more tangled in deceit and confusion. But I hadn't met him. I hadn't realized how far I could fall or what I'd have do to get free.

He has a secret.

I've never pretended to be good or deserving. I chase who I want, do what I want, act how I want.

I didn't have time to lust after a woman I had no right to lust after. I told myself to shut up and stay hidden. But then she tried to run. I'd tasted what she could offer me and damned if I would let her go.

Secrets destroy them.

Destroyed is a complicated love story between a man with a terrible past and a woman who holds his cure. A man who finds redemption in love and a woman who loses her heart and reason for living.

Death brings life, and destruction brings new beginnings.

So I am pretty sure that I have warned before that I am a SAILOR and boy oh F***ing boy did this book make me sail! That little intro is a bit of a warning that this review is going to be riddled with the fun word, though I will make them all symboly (it’s a word…now) and what not I just wanted to give you a heads up so you weren’t searching for your secret decoder ring whilst covering your sensitive little eyes. ;) I am not even sure where to start because the only thing running through my mind is “F*** ME THIS F***ING BOOK IS F***ING BRILLIANT” but I’m pretty sure that you need a bit more so I’m going to do my best to put on my classy pants and explain to you what that means.
It’s no secret that Pepper blew me away with Tears of Tess and Quintessentially Q, made me a lifelong fan no matter what she writes from here on out. I knew after reading those two that I would love anything she did. HOWEVER, Destroyed brought her to a whole other level with me. I remember messaging a friend saying “She’s stupid, STUPID talented! How does a person’s mind work like this?!” I was completely and utterly in awe of every word that she wrote and by 6% I was lusting after Roan “Fox” so hard! I was on the treadmill at the gym texting people about just how badass he was and what I would do to them if they didn’t start reading it. Just in that short time I knew that this man was not only going to own our Heroine Hazel “Zel” but also me. He was so raw, and volatile, dangerous and dark I was f***ing done at 6 mother f***ing percent, he had me. I don’t make a secret that heroines in books usually don’t matter much to me, I am without a doubt a hero whore but Zel was different. She was fierce and brave not a simpering girl using her wiles to get the man but a strong woman taking what he needed to give her and coming back for more. Of course she had a hidden agenda, don’t we all? But, hers was a legit, sell your soul to the devil kind of agenda and she never wavered no matter what he threw at her and throw he did!
Fox is a scary as hell badass motha and will make you love him, hate him, want to soothe and console him just to make you hate him all over again while you fall deeper and deeper in love and lust with his complicated self.  He is a broken, violent man with a dark and tragic past and he sees Zel as his cure, his savior and his angel. Normally I would say that’s a lot to f***ing put on somebody but again not her, she’s one of the strongest heroine’s I have ever read which I FLOVE Pepper for. She has a knack for writing a strong female character which puts her leading ladies at the top of my book girlfriends list! They both have secrets, pasts and presents that would break the other so they do their best to keep them hidden. He tells her enough to keep her safe, as safe as she can be and she tells him nothing.  That is until her secrets are staring them in the face giving her no other choice but to share every part of her with him.
