Review - Fighting For Love by Kelly Elliott

From Kelly Elliott comes book 2 in her Boston Love series. Fighting for Love is about a larger-than-life firefighter who inspires a career-driven woman to live in the moment—and trust in the power of love—in this flirty, emotional novel.

Finn Ward has two passions: being a firefighter and being single. Although his parents are constantly nagging him to settle down, Finn just wants to enjoy himself while he’s young. Then, at a union meeting, he meets a gorgeous lawyer with a dazzling smile—and suddenly, settling down doesn’t sound so bad.
Rory Adams is fresh out of law school and looking to make a name for herself at her mother’s firm. She doesn’t have time for silly games anymore. But when she catches the eye of a dashing fireman who makes her body tingle from across the room, something instantly ignites between them. The only problem? Her father is Finn’s boss.

Their relationship turns both of their lives upside-down. Rory tames Finn’s wild ways, while he shows her that life can’t be all work and no play. But it’ll take some serious determination to keep their love secret—and real courage to admit the truth.

Finn and Rory’s story is an enjoyable read. Between her parents and his job, Rory knows she should keep away from Finn. But their attraction was unavoidable. Soon they are hiding their relationship. But when it gets out, will they be strong enough to make it through? You’ll need to read it and find out. There’s romance, fun, and a precocious pup. You’ll want to read all night!

Review - Linger by Molly McAdams

The heart-stopping finale of New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Molly McAdams’s REBEL series.

I’ve always known where I ranked in every aspect of my life.

Parents? Not the favorite twin.

Military? Dangerous scapegoat.

Women? Practically a god—they’re welcome.

Mafia? Irreplaceable member of the family.

When Willow Bennett moves into our little town, I find that confidence rocked for the first time by how guarded she is.

But that secretive smile and those dancing eyes keep drawing me back to her as if falling in love isn’t a danger I never wanted to put on anyone.

And now that danger is knocking on our door. Demanding atonement for a choice my family made years ago. Attempting to ruin the peace we’ve been living in.

Threatening to destroy everything.

But in our world, rebellions aren’t a phase; they’re an oath. A way of life.

And I’m the unassuming Rebel you need to watch out for.

Nearly every word out of my mouth might drip with sarcasm, but that doesn’t diminish my aim. More than that, you can’t escape me because I’m a bloodhound.

The name’s Diggs.

There’s nothing and no one I can’t track down. If I’m looking for you, you might as well start praying because I’m about to be the last thing you see.

Okay, y’all need to read this book. Especially if you’re a fan of the series. There are so many twists and unexpectedness that you will be hard pressed to put it down and get anything else done. Diggs has so many reasons to not let Willow in, but there’s just something that’s making it difficult to push her out, no matter how hard he tries. Another great read from Molly McAdams. I expected no less and I’m glad I was right. Grab it today!

Be sure to check out the other books in the Rebel Series!

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur baby. When she's not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach . . . which roughly translates to being a homebody and dishing out movie quotes with her hubby. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and loves curling up in a fluffy blanket during a thunderstorm . . . or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

Review - The Proposal by Adriana Locke

An unexpected proposal occurs when a Vegas oops marriage turns into a marriage of convenience between a rugby player and his best friend's little sister.

Breaking News: Rugby’s bad boy marries his best friend’s little sister

If Renn Brewer would’ve asked me to marry him, I would’ve said no.

Why?

One, his reputation precedes him. His name is in the headlines at least once a month. Two, he’s not just my brother’s best friend. They’re teammates. And three, I’m in my self-care era.

Unfortunately, a version of me equates self-care with bad choices.

The cocktail in my hand—similar to the one that got me into this situation—is the prettiest shade of pink. It’s almost the same color as the giant rock on my left hand. And instead of discussing an annulment, I’m considering a 90-day marriage of convenience to the man I accidentally married in Las Vegas.

Renn didn’t propose marriage. But he does deliver a proposal I might be unable to turn down.

The Proposal is pure Adriana Locke. Renn and Blakely. His family. Her family. The emotions (there were tears). From the start I was drawn in to the story. I felt what they felt until the last page. Definitely needs to be on your TBR list.

USA Today, Washington Post, and Amazon Charts Bestselling author Adriana Locke lives and breathes books. After years of slightly obsessive relationships with the flawed bad boys created by other authors, Adriana has created her own.

She resides in the Midwest with her husband, four sons, and two dogs. She spends a large amount of time playing with her kids, drinking coffee, and cooking. You can find her outside if the weather's nice and there's always a piece of candy in her pocket.

New Release and Review - Forbidden Hearts by Corinne Michaels

New release from Corinne Michaels, Forbidden Hearts is a contemporary romance featuring a grumpy single dad and the nanny.

First rule of being a nanny? Don’t fall for the single dad, even if he is smoking hot.

But that’s exactly what happens when grumpy small-town sheriff Asher Whitlock reluctantly hires me to take care of his daughter for the summer. Neither of us is thrilled with the arrangement, but he’s desperate for help, and I need the money for grad school this fall.

All we need to do is keep our distance and remain professional . . . turns out, that’s easier said than done.

Instead of focusing on my future, all I see is the strong jawline, crystal-blue eyes, and rock-hard body right in front of me. We try to resist each other, but we end up crossing every line until I’m in his bed.

I tell myself it’s just this once.

Okay, twice.

All right, every night.

But it’s got to end–he’s fourteen years older than me, with a kid and a stressful job. Have I mentioned my dad is his boss? Then there’s the past I’m trying to forget. Secrets aren’t easy to keep and mine are getting too big to hide.

Walking away is never simple but when I do, I can’t look back.

Even if it means leaving behind the man I was never meant to love.

Review - I Should Have Said Something by Kim Boykin

I Should Have Said Something is the latest release from author Kim Boykin. "This is the story of Maisie, who followed all the rules and did everything she was supposed to do. She was a devoted daughter, a loving wife, a supportive sister, and a doting mother. She took care of everyone - except herself." - Goodreads User

Never being good at saying what she wants has kept Maisie Carver in a less-than-shiny thirty-two-year marriage, and she wants out. But she just can't get up the nerve to tell her husband, Rhys. So, she's survived the last decade trying to take advantage of her recent forgetfulness and forget that after spending half her life with Rhys, he still doesn't know her, doesn't know how lonely she feels when she's in the same room with him. But the forgetfulness, much like her dad's Alzheimer's, never works when she needs it to.

Somewhere in a shit storm of mid-life crisis and regret, Masie discovers her 85-year-old mother's bucket list. A concise one with only one thing left undone; Mom wants to see the redwoods before she dies. The fact that Mom has carried this yearning for 85 years makes Masie want to see the trees too. Even if that means going with her oldest sister, Julia, who abandoned Masie when she needed her most.

After everything that could go wrong in California goes off-the-charts wrong, Masie finds herself 3,000 miles from home amongst the redwoods with the sister she once adored. Much like Rhys, Julia has always made Masie feel like she was never smart enough, beautiful enough. Just never enough.

While Masie soon learns her perfect husband and sister are anything but, she discovers the fabulous new creature she was meant to be.

To begin, I will say that I very rarely read this genre of books. A post about the book popped up in my newsfeed and the blurb sounded interesting. I’m glad I gave it a chance. I really enjoyed it. I Should Have Said Something is about Maisie’s life and how she handles an unhappy marriage, grief, worries about her children, her sisters, her parents, and how she overcomes all this to be happy with the changes in her life. Definitely one to read.

Kim Boykin is a fiction writer with a sassy Southern streak. She is the author of I SHOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING, ECHOES OF MERCY, A PEACH OF A PAIR, PALMETTO MOON and THE WISDOM OF HAIR, all women's fiction novels. MAN SHOPPING: THE 50+ WOMAN'S GUIDE TO ONLINE DATING is her foray into nonfiction. Her contemporary romance novellas from the Tule Publishing Group include SWEET HOME CAROLINA, CAUGHT UP IN YOU, JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS, FLIRTING WITH FOREVER, SHE'S THE ONE and STEAL ME, COWBOY.

Review - The Little Flower Shop by Lori Foster

From New York Times Bestselling Author, Lori Foster comes The Little Flower Shop, book 2 in her Indiana Summers series.

How did her love life become a community affair?

Since her divorce, Emily Lucretia—affectionately known as the flower lady to the people of Cemetery, Indiana—has been focused on her flower shop and taking care of her aging aunt and uncle. Her love life is hardly the centerpiece of her busy days.

Saul Culver, the town’s favorite bachelor and owner of the local barbecue joint, has been interested in Emily for a while. But as much as Emily knows about flowers, she can be a little oblivious to her own appeal. Saul is determined to show her just how special she is.

Saul isn’t the only one trying to get Emily out of her shell. Well-meaning locals have started tagging photos of Emily with #theflowerlady on social media—and now the entire town is involved in finding her Mr. Right. Saul won't give up easily. He’s finally caught her attention, and he's determined to convince Emily—and the town—that this is the real deal and not just some passing trend.

A great read from Lori Foster. The Little Flower Shop is sweet, funny and a bit emotional. Watch Saul and Emily, navigate their attraction and fall in love. When you toss in some awesome co-workers, worries about family, a well-meaning but sweet and meddling lady and some cute pets, you’ve got a book that will keep you entertained from the first page to the last.
