Exceprt & Release Date Announcenent - When I'm With You by Harper Sloan

We are very excited to announce the release date of When I'm With You by Harper Sloan. The release for the third book in the Hope Town series will be April 26. Read on for details on the book and a super steamy excerpt!

Nate:
It’s nearly impossible to be surrounded by love but not understand it. My parents, my sister, and just about everyone around us has no trouble accepting that love. To give your trust to someone else and believe they would die before hurting you. I’ve witnessed it—I’ve seen the power of it—but I’ve also seen the pain. Because for me, I’ve only loved someone I could never have, and my biggest fear is that by giving her my love, all I would do is ruin her. I should have tried harder, but I’m not sure I can because I only feel complete when I’m with her.

Emberlyn:
The only time I feel like I belong is when he’s near. His infectious smile warms me straight to my bones. Any insecurities I have vanish with just a wink from him. A sliver of his attention makes me feel invincible. But all it took was one drunken night of truths for me to lose everything I had begun to crave. Now, I’m not sure how to move on because I only feel complete when I’m with him.

He said I was too young. I said he was perfect. He said our families wouldn’t understand. I said we could weather any storm. He said he would ruin me. And he was right.

Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway - LOCKE by Harper Sloan

I'm so excited to be a part of the blog tour for Locke, the final book in Harper Sloan's Corps Security series. Love this series, love this book, love this author!! And because she's so frickin' awesome, Harper is donating a portion of the proceeds from LOCKE's September and October sales to the Semper Fi Fund! Scroll on down for more info on the book, Harper, the series and a great giveaway!

Darkness is the only thing I see. Ever since the day my life changed. The day that everything and everyone I held close to me ceased to exist. The day I lost it all and the demons of my past consumed my every waking moment.

I tried to keep others at arm’s length. Tried not to let my darkness taint them. Ruin them. Harm them. And whether I want to admit it or not, as much as I wish I could keep them locked out, they refuse to leave. Refuse to let me suffer alone.

If I hadn’t been so focused on keeping those demons from flying free, I wouldn’t have missed how one perfect angel was able to sneak her way under my skin—refusing to let go. Making me want things I don’t deserve.

She consumes me. Her beauty knows no end. The love she promises tempts me every time she’s near. But that pure heart that makes her MY Emmy is the one thing I’m convinced I’ll destroy if I ever let her close.

I’m a broken man. A broken man with too much darkness in his soul to ever let her light shine upon me. But even that doesn’t stop me from craving her with every single breath in my body.

**This is the final book in the Corps Security series. This book is not suitable for younger readers. There is strong language, adult situations, and some violence.*

If you have not read any of the previous books in Harper Sloan's Corps Security series, stop what you're doing and go one click those babies! You don't know what you're missing!! Once you've done that, then read them all! Seriously, Harper has done it again. I've loved every book in this series since a friend recommended Axel and Cage to me and Locke is no exception. I've been asked several times which guy is my favorite and I really can't pick because I love them all for different reasons. Maddox Locke surprised me because he has so much more going on that we even got a glimpse of in the previous books. Although, I really shouldn't have been surprised, but it was a lot more than what I thought was going on with him. And Emmy, what her background was before getting involved with the Corps team and after she ran from Maddox, ugh! I just wanted to punch the people in her life that hurt her. And, of course, there is Sway! It just wouldn't be a Corps book without him! There's definitely a roller coaster of emotions as you're reading Locke and it's worth every minute of it!

Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed 'Estrogen Ocean', much to her husbands chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her eReader attached. She enjoys bad reality TV and cheesy romantic flicks. Her favorite kind of hero--the super alpha kind!

Harper started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn't take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.

12 Smart & Savvy Days of Christmas - Day 8

Thanks for stopping by and joining in the celebration!

On the eighth day of Christmas, Stephanie gave to me...

Featured Author: Hadley Quinn
Featured Book: Beck by Harper Sloan
Giveaways: E-books by Hadley and Harper

Today we welcome Hadley Quinn to our celebration and we are talking about Christmastime with family, snow and release day feelings!

Stephanie: Would you rather have a winter Christmas or summer Christmas ?

Hadley: I've been lucky enough to experience both types, but I actually like Christmas in the winter with SNOW! I split my time between California and Washington state, but I almost always spend Christmas up north. My dream Christmas would be for everyone to be at my house with lots of snow and no rush to go anywhere else; a fire in the fireplace, lots of food, lots of decorations--especially lights!! ... I love all the kids in my family, especially when they are all together. I love that cousins can be best friends. They also pick up a lot of crazy things from the adults because, well, we are all kind of, um, adventurous. So it is no surprise that there's always some excitement. From crazy snowboarding/sledding stunts to the weirdos that make snow angels in their underwear...there is always something to laugh about (or video record!) and only an occasional trip to the E.R.

Stephanie: When you have a new book go “live” on release date, how do you feel?

Hadley: Well I pretty much panic like a freaking idiot. It's scary, but also exciting. I mean I never wrote books with the plan to actually publish them. That kind of came a few years later because it had always been just a hobby. I'm pretty intense when it comes to having things "just right" though ... so when it's release time, my head is going a thousand miles a second, wondering if I've done everything to the best of my ability. I don't really publish in standard fashion like most indie writers, I have a different process. So...it really is kind of like a total surprise when release day hits and then reviews start coming in. I don't allow my family or close friends to leave reviews, so I get honest reviews from people I don't know and I appreciate that entirely. Besides the nerves, release days are also party days on Facebook, so that is cool. I love to interact with everyone, and am SO thankful for the people that give up their time to celebrate with me and show their support. That is THE BEST part of writing.

Hadley's All Time Favorites!

Song: I really don't have one! I work in the music industry so there are SO MANY songs that have influenced my life. I will chat music with ANYONE. =)

Book: I wish I had the time to read more. I would love to read at least 2 or 3 books a week!

Movie: Gahhh too many to name! I love AVENGERS, NEWSIES, FAST AND FURIOUS series, HAPPY GILMORE, DUMB AND DUMBER, LETHAL WEAPON series, and tons of others.

Television Show: I'm so non-traditional and do not watch what everyone else does, and I don't watch television much. But I do love Counting Cars, New Girl, The Sing-Off, and Guitar Center Sessions.

Color: Teal

KISS THIS continues with Jay’s story, a rebel of his own sort with the need for freedom and unfiltered opinions. His days of unruly behavior and risky decisions have dealt him a hand that he’s still trying to overcome as he seeks to accomplish his business dreams.

But the hits keep adding up. His best friend is knocked up by an ex that won’t back off, a family member drops in unexpectedly and questions need answered, and the easier aspects in life are suddenly being tested beyond his control.

When ultimate tragedy wreaks havoc on his life, it sends Jay over the edge. He can’t seem to manage the simple things anymore and he reverts back to his old ways of shutting people out and living carelessly. He loses everything he’s gained so far—everything that he didn’t know he wanted—all in one ugly weekend.

There is only one thing that can really save him from complete ruins, and this time it might not be so easily at his disposal. And then there is that damn McCallan pride that automatically resists help at every turn. It just may be the very thing that causes him to lose everything for good…

~DEE~

I’ve always been good at wearing masks. Not letting anyone see the real me. I’m content being the happy-go-lucky best friend. The strong willed boss. The independent woman who doesn’t need a man.

But the truth is I’m just as broken as the rest of you. I’m terrified that all it will take is one person to make all my carefully constructed walls crumble into fine dust. So I guard my heart with everything I have. Determined to never let anyone get close enough to hurt me again.

All is perfect until HE walks into my life. No… he doesn’t just walk. He struts his good-looking, sex-oozing self right into my space and demands that I see HIM. Making me want what I know I can’t have.

So I did the only thing I know how to do.
I run.
But he just won’t let me go.

~BECK~

The second I see her, I know she will be mine. I see past the gorgeous smiles and heart-stopping laughter. I see HER. She doesn’t want me to know her secrets or the past that haunts her, but I make it my mission to find out.

To make her mine.

She can run all she wants, but it will never be far enough to stop me from coming after her.
She’s it for me and she knows it.
She’s just too scared to admit it.

A Christmas tree is a decorated tree, usually an evergreen conifer such as spruce, pine or fir, traditionally associated with the celebration of Christmas. An artificial Christmas tree is an object made to resemble such a tree, usually made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

The tree was traditionally decorated with edibles such as apples, nuts or other foods. In the 18th century, it began to be illuminated by candles, which with electrification could be replaced by Christmas lights. Today, there are a wide variety of traditional ornaments, such as garland, tinsel, and candy canes. An angel or star might be placed at the top of the tree to represent the angel Gabriel or the Star of Bethlehem from the Nativity.

The custom of the Christmas tree developed in early modern Germany with predecessors that can be traced to the 16th and possibly the 15th century, in which "devout Christians brought decorated trees into their homes". Christmas trees are hung in St. George's Church, Sélestat since 1521. It acquired popularity beyond Germany during the second half of the 19th century. The Christmas tree has also been known as the "Yule-tree", especially in discussions of its folkloristic origins.

Did you have an angel, a star or something else at the top of your tree this year?
